In 2005, I started making zines as a way to ‘exhibit’ and share art in an affordable, accessible way. There was no real plan, other than to test. Since 2012 I’ve published a book a week—there was never an expectation that the idea would grow into an archive of hundreds of titles documenting British social history.

Many of the photographs I publish would otherwise remain unseen, underrepresented, lost, or destroyed. Reaching 21 years sits firmly with the photographers, stockists, subscribers, collectors, and regular readers who buy a single book, pick up an archive box, or simply follow along. Thank you for supporting CRB and physical print. Your collective support is the single reason CRB remains completely independent, self-funded, and viable.

To mark 21 years, I’ll be running a series of special offers over the coming weeks, starting today with Archive Boxes. From now until November 21st, every Archive Box ordered includes a £210 voucher to use across the site (excluding subscriptions). I have limited stock of the early archives—there are currently seven different archive sets available, each holding 100 books. Have a look on the website, and feel free to email me if you’re interested or have questions.

Looking ahead, the plan is to continue. There are also a few new ideas developing. As ever, I’m always open to looking at work—submission info is on the website.

Thanks for the last 21 years, and for being part of the next chapter. More birthday treats soon…
